RECEPTION PAVILLION COMPETITION ENTRY

2006, Location - Macau.  Design competition for the handover ceremony of Hong Kong - unrealised. A Pavillion of considerable size was required to be an iconic architectural statement which considered the location and surrounding of newly finished, expensive buildings and streetscapes.  Our design was influenced externally by Eastern forms interpretted using a contemporary approach.  Internally unique spaces flowed from one to another to contain relevant cultural exhibits.  We were selected as part of a limited competition with a very tight time schedule from design to construction.  Ultimately our scheme was the 'runner up' in the limited competition.
