Forster, NSW. A new chapel building to
complement the existing open air cathedral-like palm grove which overlooks
Wallis Lake.
The concept was an 'iconic' design which does not dominate this sensitive
site. Internally a central auditorium
surrounded by service accommodation.
Spiritual references are included with displays located along pathways
documenting the unique history of the site, encouraging pedestrian exploration.
Lightweight construction has
been
adopted to minimise site impact
