The Arcoessence definition of Architecture is an intention to create objects which nurture and support the mind, body and spirit. We consider all buildings as a form of life i.e. they breath, grow, shrink, eat up resources, and create waste etc.  Architecture is a multi dimensional pursuit of composition, form, proportion, colour, texture, product, and energy usage. As valuable resources are used to create all buildings and objects, our wider goal is to consider the impact on the existing environment. Architecture is a high impact profession. It is impossible  to build anything which does not have some impact on the environment. Even if we could go back to caves it is a nonsense to think 6 billion+ inhabitants would not adversely effect something! Due to this we encourage a greater understanding of Architecture in the wider community.

At Arcoessence we believe it is a major achievement to get anything built. Therefore if all the effort and resources involved achieves something more than shelter, how much greater is the result? All products take a lot to create, so the question remains why not use each material with respect and value? Architecture is the most available art form, and the only profession which bridges the gulf between the 'nuts and bolts' of construction and the aspirations of 'art'.  Throughout history the importance of art to humanity has been widely recognised.  Contrary to some opinions, whether art and/or design is beautiful, or not, will always remain a personal, subjective view. While you are considering whether you find our buildings/objects personally appealing, please consider that in each case the result was a very   satisfied owner. This remains the validation of our longstanding goal to meet the unique requirements requested by each Client.

We are often asked ...'do you do eco / sustainable / green /energy / efficient / solar etc... ?' tag after tag. Our response for 30 years has been, 'of course, doesn't everyone?' - obviously not. We ask you to consider that after all of these tags are met, what is next?  We believe there is a crucial element which is being overlooked. Our answer to this is contained in this website and our work. It is an asset  highly valued and regularly mentioned by our Clients.
